JAMS Band students participated in a short four-day band camp in early August.
This time together was spent preparing for upcoming parades and furthering our band students' musical knowledge. They played a "musical headbands'' game, which helped our students learn more about musical concepts like instrument families, note values, note names, and musical symbols. We played "Finish the Melody," which improved their aural skills in ear training. Also, a game called "Play What You See" helped the students learn how music conveys a picture or action.
Music, snacks, fun, and learning made a great time together!
