Last week, Second grade learned about the Navajo culture and customs from Max Barr’s mom (Mrs. Barr). She taught us about the Navajo shoe game which is the folktale about how the day/night came to be. She read us the folktale about the coyote and made fry bread for the students to sample. Fry bread is commonly eaten by all Native American tribes. The students also made Navajo rugs. It was a busy yet fun day in 2nd grade to say the least! Thank you, Mrs. Barr for sharing your time with us!
